The Lee County Library System is happy to provide you with online health and fitness information for you and your family. These databases and links can connect you to articles from academic journals, magazines and newspapers, as well as excerpts from reference books and video and audio files on a variety of current health topics. From facts sheets about drugs and herbal remedies to information about diseases and conditions, to links about healthy living and diet, you’ll find many of your healthcare information needs met by this comprehensive collection of online resources.

Our health and fitness links can also help you and you loved ones find family doctors and specialists; health statistics; self-help tools for teens; and referral services and support agencies for the elderly, people with physical or mental illnesses and those serving as caregivers or dealing with end-of-life issues.

From teens to seniors, all ages will find health, fitness and wellness information in our online collection that will help them to enjoy happier, healthier lives!

Health and Wellness Resource Center and Alternative Health Module
Access to carefully compiled and trusted medical reference materials. Includes nearly 400 health/medical journals, hundreds of pamphlets, over 700 health-related videos from partner Healthology, Inc., and articles from 2,200 general interest publications in addition to a broad collection of Thompson Gale reference titles.
Health Reference Center Academic
Just enter a health topic and this database will deliver a variety of online journals on the subject.
Medline Plus
MedlinePlus will direct you to information to help answer health questions. MedlinePlus brings together authoritative information from NLM, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and other government agencies and health-related organizations. Preformulated MEDLINE searches are included in MedlinePlus and give easy access to medical journal articles. MedlinePlus also has extensive information about drugs, an illustrated medical encyclopedia, interactive patient tutorials, and latest health news.
Nursing Resource CenterNursing Resource Center
Nursing students at community colleges, universities, and vocational or technical high schools across the United States need curriculum aides that can support their learning beyond the classroom, Gale's Nursing Resource Center is one of these trusted aides. Teen Health and Wellness
Teen Health & Wellness provides students with comprehensive curricular support and self-help tools on topics including diseases, drugs, alcohol, nutrition, fitness, mental health, diversity, family life, and more.
